German Peach Marzipan Pastry

This is a recipe for a delicious German peach marzipan pastry. To make this pastry you would use the German Kathi yeast dough baking mix, it's called in German Hefeteig mix. You just need to add some fresh ingredients. A perfect recipe for baking beginners. Happy Baking!

Ingredients German Peach Marzipan Pastry

For the Dough
1 Kathi Yeast Dough Baking Mix
60 g butter  
180 ml warm water 

For the Topping

1 big can peaches in halves, unsweetened or in light syrup, 8.25 oz
100 g marzipan for baking
3 tbsp powdered sugar
1 egg white and 1 egg yolk
2 tbsp milk
almond slices, blanched

Baking Instructions

Make the yeast dough per instructions.
Let raise for 30 min, covered at warm place. Volume should be doubled.

Knead marzipan with egg white and powdered sugar.
Drain the peaches.

Knead the dough by hand briefly.

Roll to a rectangle (36x36 cm or 14x14 inches) and cut into squares of
12x12 cm or 5x5 inches.
Pre-heat oven to 350 F (180C), convection 330F.
Mix egg yolk with milk. Brush this mix on each square.
Place a dot of marzipan in the middle.
Fold over the corners towards the middle.
Place one peach half on the middle of the pastry.
Layer a baking tray with parchment paper.

Place the pastries on the paper.
Bake for 20 min in pre-heated oven.
